We are honored to announce that Able Moving & Storage has won the 2024 Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year from Volunteer Fairfax. This prestigious award recognizes a Northern Virginia business for its exceptional community contributions over the past year and stellar reputation in corporate social responsibility.
Since our organization’s founding in 1987, community support has been a core value for Able Moving & Storage. Over the years, we have forged long-standing partnerships with local nonprofits such as Second Story to combat homelessness and food insecurity in our region. Additionally, our commitment has extended to other vital organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Highlights from 2023 that contributed to our recognition by Volunteer Fairfax include:
- Donating 4 pallets of medical masks, face shields, and antibacterial wipes to the House of Mercy for Medical Missionaries.
- Contributing 3 truckloads of dorm furniture to Second Story and House of Mercy.
- Providing 50 turkeys and 5 Thanksgiving baskets to Second Story.
- Supplying in-kind moving services to Second Story’s residential programs.
- Serving as the storage sponsor for NAIOP Northern Virginia Snack Pack, which benefitted Second Story with over 5000 snack packs for local youth.
- Serving as transportation sponsor for NAIOP Northern Virginia Holiday Donation and Wrapping Party that supplied over 200 gifts for 85 local youth during this holiday season.
- Participating in and sponsoring the Ronald McDonald House DC 13th Annual Red Shoe 5K, which raised over $108,500 to improve access to healthcare and well-being for children and families in the greater Washington, DC, area.
- Continuing our in-kind sponsorship for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by helping with 6 fundraising events’ transportation and set-up between May and September.
- Partnering with Dream Finders Homes to transport and deliver 200 bikes to Women Giving Back for local children during the holiday season.
