1. Investing in Education Through Annual Scholarships
On May 30, Able continued its long-standing scholarship program, offering $2,000 of financial assistance to a youth participant of Second Story, based in Vienna, VA. Second Story is dedicated to transforming the lives of children, youth, and their families by providing safe havens and opportunities for growth and success.
This initiative helps reduce the financial barriers that students and their families face, reinforcing our commitment to education as a foundation for long-term opportunity. By supporting students at a critical stage in their academic journey, we are proud to help foster growth beyond the moving industry and into the future workforce.
2. Supporting Families Through Ronald McDonald House Charities
Able strengthened its partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) by participating in the RMHC 45th Anniversary Event on June 5. This milestone event celebrated decades of support for families who need a place to stay while their children receive medical care.
Later in the year, Able deepened that commitment by serving as a Champion Sponsor for the RMHC Red Shoe 5K on October 5. This sponsorship helped fund housing, meals, and support services that allow families to remain close to their hospitalized children during stressful and emotional times.
3. Advancing Cystic Fibrosis Awareness and Research
Able remained actively involved in the fight against cystic fibrosis through multiple Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) events. On June 14, Able participated in the CFF Brewers Ball, a fundraising event that supports research, patient care, and advocacy efforts.
On September 6, Able team members took part in the CFF Great Strides Manassas 5K, walking alongside families, supporters, and advocates. This event helped raise funds and awareness for individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis while reinforcing the importance of community involvement in advancing medical progress. We look forward to maintaining and strengthening our partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the New Year!
4. Strengthening Community Support With Second Story
Second Story remained a central partner in Able’s community outreach throughout the year. On August 5, Able participated in the NAIOP Snack Pack initiative, helping assemble and distribute food packs for youth supported by Second Story. The effort continued with the Snack Pack Celebration on August 21, bringing together volunteers and community partners to recognize the impact of this initiative.
Able also supported the Second Story Beacon of Hope Fundraiser on October 22, helping raise funds for programs that assist youth and families facing housing instability, family conflict, and crises.
As the holidays approached, Able donated turkeys and staff-provided food items on November 20 to help families enjoy a complete Thanksgiving meal. On December 4, Able participated in NAIOP’s gift wrapping and delivery effort, helping bring holiday gifts directly to children and families served by Second Story. Together, these efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to meeting immediate needs while supporting long-term stability for the children, youth, and families Second Story serves throughout the year.
5. Recognizing Employees Through the Extra Mile Awards
